After spending the weekend sitting on the couch working on my hexies and lamenting on my need for a pincushion – I’ve been using the boppy. I stumbled upon this post by The Green Dragonfly
Sweet! I have the tools. . .got tons of baby food jars, just cannot bring myself to throw those jars out! Baby food jars and egg cartons! It really is a sickness 😉
So I gathered my supplies and came up with this:
- rice filled pincushion
One thing I did differently which may be brilliant, or brilliantly silly. . .I filled the pincushion, unlined, with rice.
What makes a woman fill an unlined crocheted ball with rice? . .you may ask. I thought it was a good idea at the time.
Well, I guess time will tell. . .I will be monitoring the area for escaped rice kernels – night!
Cute!
Thanks!
Isn’t that sweet! I guess you could always pop little escapees back!
To put ’em back, seems cruel, no? 😉
I don’t see any rice poking through so it seems like a success!
And, what a clever idea. You can even store extra straight pins in the jar below, or buttons, or even snacks. 🙂
Yup, you could. . .if you didn’t glue it by mistake. . .lol!
