these rocks don’t lose their shape. . .Cushion Cut

Shame that such a pretty cut gets such a bum-rap in the naming department – this is also the easiest of the three blocks so far – no y-seams!  But really after the first two blocks, y-seams are a piece of cake now, eh?  🙂

I’m really enjoying the ability to audition the fabric placement in EQ7.  It takes the guess work out and is sooooo much fun. . .husband waiting to watch the next episode of ‘the Walking Dead’ but I need one more minute kind of fun 🙂

Cushion Cut

I think my initial goal was to try a curvier cut this month, but I got drawn in by the fussy cutting possibility of this block – it just seemed perfect to showcase one of those girls who love their diamonds 🙂

Or if you would like to go back to the Heart Shaped cut you can find that on The Crafty Planner’s blog here.  If you have some time it would be well spent looking through Sandi’s blog, she has some fun podcasts available for your listening pleasure.

I also managed to finish my ‘zoo’ purse, I needed something cross body, light and big enough for our passes, a couple o’bucks, car key, wipes and a pull up. . .so I made the 241-tote and added an adjustable strap, invisible snap, one back zipped pocket and since there was a little bit of fabric left over I made Sew Sweetness’ little change purse – done!

Zoo here we come 🙂

if you’re zoo bound, a sewing fiend or just chilling – enjoy your weekend 🙂
